chinese army learns a combination of sanshou, northern chinese wrestling, probably SOME elements of wushu. not sure really since they are secretive about it- you can look up what taiwanese swat and special forces use here on youtube- i am sure Chinese don’t use anything that much different.

well the arts of those times and what they have now are quiet different it wasn’t about flipping around and flying through the air it was about protecting yourself..or others from attack..

I was told he wanted to match the success of both Caesar and Pompei during their reign that was known as the triumviat,
so he wanted to have his own success in Parthia,
and I even think it was molten gold that was poored down his throat,
    but I might be wrong

Yes, Zen is a form of buddhism (Zen Buddhism). It is a branch of buddhism that focuses on meditation being the way to enlightenment. It is not against the teachings of Siddhartha Guatama (Buddha) at all.

And, the idea that Zen means rejecting Buddhism is scandalous. Zen is a school of Buddhism, it IS Buddhism, it does not reject the teaching of Gautama Buddha and, finaly, meditation was introduced by Buddha in the first place- he was enlightened while meditating.
Sorry, I just thought that this ought to be brought up.

Oh, my, this story is so full of incorrect details and the whole concept so sadly oriented towards sensationalism- this is a nobile virtue, not a street-fight.
“They did NOT know a 100 ways to kill a man”, the aim was protection, no one was taught to kill- as in every martial art, it is always important to try to not kill.
The little boy is not beging to be admitted but rather bowing, it’s a traditional expression of respect, not fear.

its must have been very bad indeed living in those times…no pubic services….the risk of being enslaved or killed at a moments notice…well i guess that depends on where you live…or then again maybe not….

Not sure how his wealth would compare to modern billionaires, one has to remember that this was a time before industrialization and capitalism, so the gap between rich and poor was much larger and there were very few rich people, most of the people in the ancient world would have been extremely poor especially in less developed cultures such as the Germans and Sarmatians which also lacked public services.

@LordAzanko March Anthony was planning to invade Parthia during his time with Cleopatra in Egypt before Battle of Actium.

The battle of carrhae in which Crassus was ambushed and killed occurred several decades earlier during the same period where Caesar was conducting the Gallic war. Crassus was also the general who defeated Spartacus, and was purported to be the richest man in Rome, its said the Parthians poured molten silver down his throat when they killed him..

To say the least, the Seleucids and Ptolemies killing each other while Parthia and Pontos expanded their territory at the expense of both. Rome might have had a lot more trouble in the east if not for the war between Macedonia and Greece.

i dont really think stylized gymnastics would do much to stop pissed off chinese warlords or huns….if that was the case then the shaolin temple would have been burned down 2 hours after being set up…..

i do….its just i didnt like 300… granted it had good action scenes…but overall plotwise it was pretty weak….and i know most folks mainly watch it for the action granted but for me it just didnt have much of a affect on me..they kinda overdid it with xerxes a giant 10 foot tall drag queen with a bad case of Laryngitis…but i guess not everyone can agree all all things….
